How Do Mitsubishi Mini-Splits Work?

Ductless mini-split heating and air conditioning systems work in much the same way as traditional, split systems. These systems comprise two units: one indoor unit and one outdoor unit. Through the process of converting low-pressure gas to high-pressure gas, mini-splits move hot air from inside a home or building to the outside. Meanwhile, the system cools warm air and sends it back inside. This process continues until the air inside reaches the desired temperature, as set by the thermostat.
The main components of a ductless mini-split system include the compressor, condensing coil and fan. Because they rely on a thermostat, mini-splits will automatically turn on and off as needed. Mini-splits can be used to heat your property. In this case, the process is reversed, with the mini-split removing cold air from inside and replacing it with heated air.
